For over seven years, Roy R. Pachecano has been on
the faculty of Pratt Institute where he teaches at the school's
Center for Professional Studies. Pratt, a leading private school in Brooklyn, offers a wide range of design related curriculim
and was one of the top ten schools in the country by U.S. News & World Report in its 2009 guide to America's Best Graduate
Schools.

In 2009, Mr. Pachecano was appointed by the Dean of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and confirmed by the Trustees of Columbia University as
one of the university's newest adjunct professors. Mr. Pachecano's appointment to Columbia offers the university original
course content in the subjects of zoning and land use.

Roy's
strong affiliation with his undergraduate school, Texas A&M University, College Station, has led him to be invited as
guest lecturer on several occasions since 1998 at the College of Architecture. As a result of his strong ties to his
native Texas, he set up sponsoring internships at Portico to advance graduate level education.

For six years, beginning 1998, Roy also assisted Barry LePatner, Esq.,
and A. Eugene Kohn (KPF Architects) at Mr. Kohn's summer seminar series offered at Harvard University's Graduate School of
Design. Roy is an approved lecturer by the New York
State Education Board.

Zoning and Its Impacts on Architecture and
the Community
"All
development impacts communities. Some build communities, some harm them. Topics of this course include: bulk and use zoning
concepts; the technical aspects of zoning that are a part of all new development (e.g., sky exposure plane ratios, set-back
requirements, and yard requirements help maintain ventilation and light/air); shadow analysis scenarios and the impact of
community review of the development process; variances and zoning changes."
